C.W. MissionControl: Software for Model Rocketry

Posted by

It’s finally here.

After months and months of work, I’ve finally released the final piece of the puzzle – MissionControl. An end-to-end model rocketry electronics solution that not only is backwards-compatible with STARLIGHT boards sold, but will be pre-loaded onto every STARLIGHT and other Circuit Wizardry flight computer as of today.

What does MissionControl do?

Our vision for MissionControl was simple – make an easy-to-use interface to allow you to program your Circuit Wizardry flight computer. We didn’t want to give up any of the customizability that was at the core of STARLIGHT. We tried our absolute best to make MissionControl as customizable and adaptable as possible.

MissionControl allows you to tweak every part of your Circuit Wizardry flight computer, from pyro charges to GPIO pins and more.

MissionControl is fully integrated with Circuit Wizardry flight computers’ firmware, so you don’t have to worry about issues! Just make sure your MissionControl version and your firmware version are the same, and you’re good to go.

Sounds great. How do I use it?

https://github.com/Circuit-Wizardry/missioncontrol has all the information you need on installing MissionControl. If you don’t already have the firmware for your board installed, check out your board’s user manual for more information. Your board’s user manual can be found on the product page or in the Tindie description!

More Information

Many Circuit Wizardry flight computers have different ways of interfacing with MissionControl. The best place to find specific information on how to use MissionControl with your specific circuit board is in your board’s user manual.

You can find basic information on MissionControl and using it for model rocketry below.

This has been my project over the last few weeks, which is why I haven’t been very active on other sources. If you have any other feedback, feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me at [email protected]. I’ll respond as soon as I can.

Enjoy 🙂
